The short answer
Buy the addi Click Turbo if you want speed, a join that needs no key, and a range that reaches 10mm for chunky. Buy the Knitter's Pride Dreamz if your stitches slide off metal, if you want a warmer needle in the hand, or if the price matters - and accept that it stops at 8mm. Both start at US 4, so neither is a sock set.

The join is the headline difference
addi's tips twist and click into the cord with no tool. Knitter's Pride uses a screw join with a key supplied for tightening.
- No key means nothing to lose, which is the practical argument for the click join.
- A screw join loosens if you under-tighten it, and a tip that unscrews mid-row drops a whole needle's stitches.
- A screw join is also fixable with the key when it works loose; a click mechanism either holds or it does not.
- Swivel cables, on the Dreamz, stop the cable twisting as you turn the work - a different problem, solved separately.

The points
addi's Turbo point is deliberately blunt. That is fast and comfortable on plain stocking stitch, and it fights you on anything that needs the tip to enter a tight space - lace decreases, stranded colorwork, k2tog through the back loop.
The Dreamz taper is gentler than a lace point but sharper than a Turbo, which makes it the more general-purpose profile of the two. If you knit a lot of lace, neither is ideal and a lace tip is the reason people buy the third set on this page.
Range, which decides it for chunky
- addi reaches US 15 (10mm). Super bulky is inside the set.
- Dreamz stops at US 11 (8.0mm). Plenty of chunky patterns ask for more.
- Both start at US 4 (3.5mm), so DK, worsted and bulky are covered by either.

Which is better, addi Click or Knitter's Pride Dreamz?
Neither in the abstract. addi is nickel-plated with a keyless click join and reaches US 15 (10mm); Dreamz is laminated wood with a screw join and stops at US 11 (8.0mm). Choose on tip material and on whether you knit chunky.
Do either of these sets do sock needles?
No. Both start at US 4 (3.5mm), and sock yarn wants roughly 2.25mm to 3.25mm. Sock needles are a separate purchase whichever set you buy.
Is a click join better than a screw join?
It needs no key, which means nothing to lose. A screw join can work loose if under-tightened - but it can also be re-tightened with the key, where a click mechanism either holds or does not.
Are addi Turbo tips too blunt?
For plain stocking stitch they are fast and comfortable. For lace decreases and stranded colorwork the blunt tip fights you, and a sharper lace point is the better tool.
Which set is better for chunky knitting?
