What this site collects, and the much longer list of what it does not.

The short answer

Worsted & Weave collects analytics data through Google Analytics 4 and the contact details you choose to send us through the contact form. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising networks, and we do not require an account.

What we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which links are clicked. That includes pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, referring site, and clicks on outbound affiliate links.

We use it to decide what to write next. It is not used to identify you, and we do not attempt to.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter, plus a timestamp used to filter automated submissions. That is sent to our own inbox by email and is not stored in a database on this site.

We use it to reply to you. We do not add you to a mailing list.

When you click an affiliate link, the retailer sets a cookie identifying us as the referrer, so that a purchase can be attributed. That cookie is the retailer's, set under their policy - Amazon's is on their own site - and it does not tell us who you are.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell or share your data with anyone, for any purpose.
  • We do not run an advertising network or place retargeting pixels.
  • We do not require an account, because there is nothing to log into.
  • We do not have a newsletter database, because we do not run a newsletter.
  • We do not store contact form submissions beyond the email they generate.

Cookies

This site sets analytics cookies through Google Analytics 4. It sets no advertising cookies of its own. Retailers you click through to set their own cookies under their own policies.

You can block cookies in your browser settings, or use a browser extension that blocks analytics. The site works fully without them.

Your choices

  • Opt out of analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on, or any analytics-blocking extension.
  • Ask what we hold by emailing us. In practice, for most readers, it is nothing beyond aggregate analytics.
  • Ask us to delete a contact email you sent us. We will.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the last-updated date at the top of the page changes with it.
